Thompson First Group is seeking a 2nd Shift Dock Lead for a temporary to hire opportunity for a local client in Newark, DE

JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for maintaining packing equipment, general quality of the finished product and

  • loading product into trailers. Insure all packers are performing their job per loader job description

ESSENTIAL JOB AND QUALITY FUNCTIONS

  • Assign loaders at the start of the shift to their work area.

  • Follow up to insure loaders are performing their job function correctly.

  • Complete necessary paperwork associated with trailer loading.

  • Monitor automatic and or semi-automatic packaging equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.

  • Visual quality inspection for packaging durability and product acceptability.

  • Review trailer availability and coordinate trailer moves.

  • Cleaning and preparation of trailers

  • Loading product into trailers or storage areas.

  • Minor quality testing of product.

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area.

  • Cover Packers as needed

  • Assist with resin deliveries, as needed

  • Film roll changes as needed.

  • Insure all loaders are wearing the proper PPE.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

8-10 employees per shift.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Standing all day

  • Non climate controlled warehouse

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bending, twisting and overhead reaching.

  • Balance when transferring product onto trailer.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • 20/20 Vision or corrective eye ware

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

  • Hearing and Eye protection required

  • Beard net and Hair net required
