Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Plant Maintenance Supervisor for a local client in Linkwood, MD. Candidates who have a background working as a Maintenance Mechanic and in a Supervision capacity are encouraged to apply.
Supervises the staff, processes and activities for maintaining all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation.
Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are accomplished according to the Maintenance Manager’s direction.
Oversees maintenance staff by observing work performance and assisting as necessary.
Monitors and continually improves maintenance processes and maintenance personnel performance to achieve enhanced levels of efficiency.
Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
Plant maintenance staff.
Two to four-year college or university program degree in relevant Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, chemical or food processing), Industrial Management or other technical discipline required.
Critical thinking skills, problem solving, strategy development, and implementation experience required.
Experience implementing predictive/preventive maintenance programs.
2+ years Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment focused on process improvement.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships at all levels and maintain a positive working environment.
Strong computer application skills in a network environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
Must be able to climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
Work at heights by climbing stairs and ladders with proper PPE.
Standing, bending and stooping for the majority of the shift.
Hot and wet environment.
Must be willing to work all shifts including over-time and weekends as needed.
