Thompson First Group is seeking Quality Control Technicians for permanent hire opportunities for a local client in Newark, DE.

Candidates that have a background completing Quality Control testing, have use of Manufacturing System and have worked in a Production Setting are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum requirement of high school chemistry or general lab work experience. Position requires handling chemicals, using volumetric glassware, analytical balances, pH meters and SPIN meters.

  • General computer knowledge and the ability to use Microsoft Works and Excel.

  • Excellent math (algebra) and problem solving skills required.

  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team, and works overtime as needed.

  • Must be able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills are a must. The position requires communication with SPIN production personnel as well as QC and R&D personnel.

  • Individual must be focused on task and not easily distracted.

  • Must be able to transport up to 40 lbs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparing standards and vats used in the daily testing of SPIN disks.

  • Conducts performance tests on start-up and hourly disks samples.

  • Conducts physical/vacuum testing on pouched disk products.

  • Responsible for interpreting data and making reagent adjustments as needed.

  • Investigates customer complaints pertaining to SPIN products.

Physical Requirements:

  • Works indoors in a temperature controlled environment.

  • Position requires handling various chemicals and occasionally working in a fume hood.

  • Requires good judgment, good problem solving, communication and math skills as well as good color perception.

  • Position requires walking, standing, sitting, and transporting up to 40lbs.
