Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanics for a local client in Tampa, FL. Candidates who have a background working as a Maintenance Mechanic in an industrial setting are encouraged to apply.

Job Duties:

  • Routinely inspects and maintains building and installed systems including but not limited to packaging machinery, plumbing systems, production equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and grounds.

  • Performs minor and routine repairs including but not limited to painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.

  • Maintains heating and air conditioning units for the facility.

  • Assists with the installation and modification of building equipment systems.

  • Creates and maintains up-to-date service and replacement data files for building equipment and machinery.

  • Communicates need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment to appropriate manager.

  • Responds in a timely fashion to problems related to facility maintenance and repair.

  • Makes recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities.

  • Inspects buildings, grounds, and equipment of unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.

  • Inspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment.

  • Possesses and maintains a high level of competency and efficiency in all aspects of maintenance operations.

  • Prepares required reports and correspondence.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 5 years or more related electrical experience along with pneumatic and hydraulic experience.

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and industrial maintenance.

  • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and read electrical drawings.

  • Ability to work at heights (if needed).

  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.

  • Proficient on Microsoft Office products and overall computer skills.

  • PLC knowledge a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.

  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.

  • Bilingual skills a plus.

  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.

  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
