Thompson First Group is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic for a direct hire role with a local client in Aston, PA.
Candidates that have a background completing largely mechanical repairs in a manufacturing setting are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
Inspect various types of industrial, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic machines for functionality issues
Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
Perform maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
Provide corrective maintenance and preventative measures to machines
Keep logs of work and report on issues
Undertake other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Proven experience as Mechanic
Knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
Ability to use various hand tools (drills, grinders, screwdrivers, hammers, measuring tools etc.)
Ability to follow procedures and practices and read instruction, schematics etc.
Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
Good communication skills
Problem-solving abilities
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED); Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a plus
Must have 1-2 years’ experience at a food processing plant
Ability to read, understand, and follow production schedules, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus.
Work Environment
Cold temperatures (40°F–48°F) in refrigerated processing areas.
Wet, noisy environment with exposure to raw meat and cleaning chemicals.
Shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs regularly.
Standing for up to 8–10 hours per shift.
