Thompson First Group is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic for a direct hire role with a local client in Aston, PA.

Candidates that have a background completing largely mechanical repairs in a manufacturing setting are encouraged to apply. 

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect various types of industrial, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic machines for functionality issues

  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability

  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner

  • Perform maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems

  • Provide corrective maintenance and preventative measures to machines

  • Keep logs of work and report on issues

  • Undertake other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as Mechanic

  • Knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components

  • Ability to use various hand tools (drills, grinders, screwdrivers, hammers, measuring tools etc.)

  • Ability to follow procedures and practices and read instruction, schematics etc.

  • Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines

  • Good communication skills

  • Problem-solving abilities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a plus

  • Must have 1-2 years’ experience at a food processing plant

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow production schedules, SOPs, and safety guidelines.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus.

Work Environment

  • Cold temperatures (40°F–48°F) in refrigerated processing areas.

  • Wet, noisy environment with exposure to raw meat and cleaning chemicals.

  • Shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.

  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Standing for up to 8–10 hours per shift.
